I took some photos around the Stevens Campus recently, which I’ll post over the next few days. This place is so picturesque and beautiful, not to mention some of the best views of Manhattan from Hoboken.

Steve Aucock was the counterperson at my local Laundromat for many years. He was a super nice guy and would loan me a few quarters out of his own pocket if I came up short so I didn’t have to run all the way home before starting my load of laundry. Eventually the laundromat changed hands and one day he was gone. I never knew what happened to him until a little while back when an unrelated internet search revealed that he had passed away, and several years ago at that.
People would stop into the laundromat to chat with Steve even when they weren’t doing laundry. He was always talking about this city and was a wealth of Hoboken historical knowledge. I’m glad I had the opportunity to overhear bits of it time and again while folding my T-shirts.

An audience stands wrapped in the Swingadelic sound. Dig the brass! At this moment I was wrapped in the pattern of cast shadows swaying in unison to the beat.
