I’ve been living in Hoboken for about 18 months now and I’ve learned a whole lot of history in this adorable 1 square mile:

Sybil’s Cave was used in an Edgar Allan Poe story and its legends have inspired stories for more than 100 years

Birthplace of the Oreo cookie

Where Maxwell House and Lipton Tea blossomed

Steven’s is one of the oldest technological universities in the United States

The Hoboken Fire Department has been a Class 1 rated fire department since 1996 and is the only one of its kind in New Jersey and one of only 24 in the United States. The firehouses and the fire museum, are on the National Register of Historic Places

Most bars per square mile in America

Birthplace of the ice cream cone (only 4 doors away from our apartment!)
